Popped in for a quick bite before spending some time on the beach.

Today was my first visit and I noticed something on the menu and on the back's of the staff. A quote that said "You are a stranger here, but once" For some reason I took that in and though to myself. "Will I be back?"

After walking in the host asked how many people were in my group. Since I was solo he suggested the bar area. The bar was nice and compact. I was greeted by one of the bartenders and immediately ordered what I was expecting to get. Although since it was my first time I wanted to go though the menu real quick to see what other items or deals they may have.

Food came out fairly quickly. Everything was great. From the taste, speedy delivery, and the staff as the person who waited me was very attentive.

Since the bar was an immediate hard left from the entrance I didn't have any time to check out the rest of the place. But I made an effort in doing so since Ashland Hill looks like a place I would like to come any visit in the future.

One thing I did notice was there was a doggy menu and rules for your pet(s). I think that is great!

Parking: Paid lots in surrounding areas. Street parking.

    VERDICT: Rinse and repeat

I must have come on a very bad day on the Hill.
I want to the bar first. There were a number of young ladies there and the gentleman was off is game. I was there for 10 min and he has busted the station next to me. Didn't offer a menu or take my order. I moved to the patio and took 40 min to get my order.

A bad day on the hill.

Perfect afternoon spent during Social Hour on a Tuesday with a friend enjoying some hand-crafted Gin & Tonics, Parmesan Fries and Corn Fritters in the cozy bar with the charming Bliss and Margaret tending bar. Look forward to many returns.

Returned for Social Hour and enjoyed a quiet patio with a friend on a mellow Wednesday. The G&T was fine. The overpriced Sweet Potato Fries were also fine. Service was attentive. Nice ambience.

We went to Ashland Hill for my friend's birthday lunch last weekend and had the best service! We had a party of 8 and our waitress was super friendly and came around several times to make sure she got everyone's food and drink orders, as people arrived at different times. Then, she gave my friend 2 drinks on the house for her birthday, how nice!

The entire menu looked good, but I decided to get the Ashland Hill Burger with Parmesan Fries. I l don't love spending a lot on burgers, but this $16 was well worth it!! We also tried a bunch of the desserts! The bread pudding and key lime pie were my favorites!

Parking is always a little difficult on a weekend in Santa Monica, but you can hopefully get lucky with a metered spot near the restaurant on or just off Main St!

What can I tell you about Ashland Hill guys ? I had a fitting for a commercial project on a Main Street, and, suddenly, I looked across and decided to have a lunch.

First of all, everything looks prestigiously simple. Nice area away from the driveway. Polite and mindful waitress.

The prices are average. Let's talk about the food though. I wouldn't say it was delicious or divine. Not even close. But was it tasty ? Yes it was. It looked good on a plate and kind of heated up my hunger when I saw it on the table. Totally comprehensible menu.

Eventually I stayed satisfied. Everything was on time, no complaints. I'm not sure but they probably have a parking lot in front. I don't know though. Check it out yourself.
